The Kylian Mbappe transfer saga is getting muddy.
“Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are expected to receive an ‘insulting offer’ for Mbappe as they approach the deadline to extend his contract, according to global media outlet Goal.com. PSG president Nasser El-Khelaifi has given the player an ultimatum that he could be sold this summer if he does not extend his contract by July. Other big clubs are in talks to sign Mbappe,” the report said.
“Chelsea are preparing a cash-and-carry deal and Liverpool are trying to sign him on loan. However, Real remain the favorites given Mbappe’s interest in signing with Real Madrid. PSG may have to accept a cheap offer this summer to prevent him from leaving for free next summer. It would certainly be surprising.”
France’s RMC Sport wrote: “July 31 is the last day for Mbappe to extend his contract until 2025. He did not change his mind (to refuse to renew) despite the ultimatum. Mbappe did not participate in the tours of Japan and South Korea and PSG hierarchy is already convinced that he will join Real as a free agent next summer.”
“PSG’s position remains unchanged. They could even receive a ‘low and insulting’ offer from Real. Mbappe insists he will stay in Paris this season to honor his contract. The PSG supporters are also watching and waiting to see what happens with the Mbappe transfer saga.”
The ‘MNM line’ has been dismantled and the Parc des Princes has been shaken up in the heat of summer. The ‘GOAT’ Lionel Messi left as a free agent after a falling out and signed with Inter Miami. Neymar has been linked with a move away from PSG for the past year, but has insisted on staying.
Mbappe’s future is also in doubt. Fabrizio Romano, an expert on European soccer transfers, took to social media to shed some light on the conflict between Mbappe and PSG. “The situation is very tense and the club is furious,” Romano said, adding that he was “surprised by the timing of the (contract) rejection letter,” that “PSG has a contingency plan in case Mbappe leaves,” that “there is no chance of him leaving for free,” and that “the leak (of the extension rejection) was not expected because (contract) negotiations were ongoing.” 꽁머니지급
Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to Real, known as the Dream Club. He also refuted the recent controversy. “I did not ask to leave PSG or join Real,” Mbappe said. I only said that I would not exercise the option to extend my contract until June 2025,” he said. “I’m happy to stay here next season,” he added, meaning that he will honor the contract he signed with PSG until the end of time, and will not extend it.
For PSG, the risk of giving Mbappe away for free. Instead of extending his contract, which would effectively leave him stranded, they are preparing to release him in a hurry. According to ‘Eurosport’, PSG will want ‘at least £160 million’ for Mbappe, with Real and Manchester United the most likely suitors.
